What am I going to do with my life? The ‘my life’ part can get a bit scary. Of course there’s never a problem finding something to do, but what about making a happier, better future? Hmmm… So you find a job and then kind of figure that, well I got a job, so let’s see how I’m going to have some fun now.
And that would be a funny thing because now you’ve got forty plus hours a week doing something so you can do other things you like to do. Well, hey you know, it’s a job, there you go. Well what if you could do something you liked and got paid for it and it was pretty interesting too? Maybe just interesting, period.
So what if all that time you’d spent at a job could be all right too? Huh…
Here’s the thing: when you know how to do something and you can do it well then it’s more fun to do, its not ‘a job’, it’s a profession – it can lead to more things to do, more skills and more money because now you’ve got something other people would like to have you around for and will pay you to prove it.
That’s where a place like NPC comes in. At National Polytechnic College they train people with skills you can use for a career and even get your hands on experience so you really know what you are doing and can start a profession, being all ready to go! NPC graduates can walk in and get started in some of the most desirable (‘they are looking for people’) areas for building a professional career.
Ok, so how do you choose a career? Well, what do you like doing? Do you like people, like talking to them, or do you prefer organizing things? Are you comfortable with numbers? Could you see yourself helping out a doctor or a dentist? Maybe you’d just like to help people relax.
Chances are you like to help in some way, right?
So here are some options:
Talking to people, helping them. You’ve got a Dental Assistant degree or a Medical Assistant degree. There’s a bit of organizing too and some recordkeeping, as well as how to help out the doctor, all so that the patient gets helped.
Organizing – well you’ve got Dental and Medical Assistant programs as well as Computerized Office Assistant degree – you’re the one in the back who’s keeping the records straight, writing the letters, keeping the show on the road.
Numbers – well, Computerized Accounting degree and Computerized Office Assistant degree. Computerized Accounting gets you in with managing money, taxes, and finance and certifies you to do so.
Help people relax? Massage Therapy degree, of course!
NPC has programs tailored for each of these areas. You learn all the vital skills and get practiced with them so when you show up for work you already know what you are doing! Check out the pages on each program to get the in-depth facts on each and then get signed up and started. Getting a life, who knew it could be that easy!
